Masks were worn for Social dancing and ceremony. The masks were often made to represent animals or enemies. This mask is known as a booger mask or ski-li to the Cherokee.
This mask is called u gu gu or owl.

Made from Lizella clay. Mask was traditionally fired in an earthen pit to develop the color.
Mask is 7.5″ long, 5″wide, and 3.5″ deep.
Hangs from leather cord.
