This design was created specifically for the Qualla Boundary MMIW committee. The committee is becoming an official chapter of the Missing Murdered Indigenous Coalition of NC. All profits from this design will go towards an Indigenous organization of the committee’s choosing that is directly impacted by missing and murdered Indigenous person crisis. The committee will publish the number of sales and profits donated for transparency. As Cherokees, we are a matrilineal society. Our women are sacred, providers, life bringers, and protectors. This is why I chose to create the committee’s logo with a strong woman wearing a feather cape. She has traditional face tattoos, traditional Cherokee tattoos, a ribbon skirt, and she carries a feather and bundle of sage.
